Nigerian music icon, Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Face or 2Baba, has caused a stir on social media by deleting all posts related to the rumors surrounding his marriage and the alleged separation from his wife, Annie Idibia. The confusion began on January 26, 2025, when 2Baba made a surprising announcement on his Instagram account, claiming that he and Annie, his wife of 12 years, had been living apart and had filed for divorce.
In the now-deleted post, 2Baba wrote, “Hello to my beautiful people of all federations. Well, this thing I have to say is short but also long. I and Annie Macaulay have been separated for a while now, and currently filed for divorce. I would grant a press release soon to say my story. Not because it is anyone’s right to know about my personal life but because I love my people and I need them to know my innocence or offense. Stay blessed my people. I love you all.” The post immediately attracted attention, as fans and the media began speculating about the state of the couple’s marriage.
However, the situation took an unexpected turn when a second post appeared, claiming that 2Baba’s Instagram account had been hacked. “My Instagram account has been hacked, efforts are being carried out to take back control. #onelove!” the post read. This raised questions about the authenticity of the original announcement and led some to believe that the singer’s account had been compromised.
The confusion deepened when 2Baba himself posted a video in which he denied that his account had been hacked. Speaking in Pidgin, he clarified, “Hello, my people, nobody hacked my account. Na me talk weytin I won yan,” essentially affirming that the earlier posts were indeed his words and not the result of a hack.
Despite his clarification, the situation remained unclear. By the morning of January 27, 2Baba had deleted all related posts, including the video in which he denied the hacking claim. The sudden removal of the content left fans puzzled and uncertain about the status of his marriage and the accuracy of his divorce announcement. The deletion only added to the growing speculation and confusion surrounding the matter.
