Nigeria Immigration Silent on Bobrisky’s Alleged Arrest at Seme Border

Reports of the alleged arrest of Nigerian cross-dresser Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, by personnel of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) at the Seme Border have sparked widespread attention, but the NIS has remained silent on the matter. The arrest was first revealed by social media activist Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), who claimed that Bobrisky was apprehended while attempting to flee into the neighboring Benin Republic on Monday.

In an Instagram post, VDM shared a video in which he claimed to have received information from an unnamed source about Bobrisky’s arrest. According to the message, “Bobrisky was arrested this morning at Seme border on his way to escape to Benin Republic.” VDM further alleged that Bobrisky had sent someone to help him sign his international passport and was hiding in his car when the arrest occurred. “The Nigerian Immigration Service is currently holding him,” the source reportedly said.

Efforts by the media to confirm the authenticity of the claim directly from the NIS were unsuccessful, as the service did not respond to inquiries. The lack of official comment has left room for speculation and uncertainty surrounding the reported arrest.

The news quickly gained traction on social media, with many users discussing the possibility of Bobrisky’s escape attempt, particularly as it came during a period of heightened scrutiny over his legal and public controversies. Despite the growing buzz, no official statement from either Bobrisky or the NIS has emerged to verify or deny the claims.

As the situation unfolds, observers and fans alike are awaiting clarification on the matter. Bobrisky’s legal troubles, along with his public persona, have made him a highly talked-about figure in Nigerian social media circles, and this alleged arrest only adds to the ongoing intrigue.
