“Nigeria is Bleeding, We are Suffering” – Governor Fintiri Criticizes Tinubu’s Economic Policies

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has sharply criticized the economic policies of President Bola Tinubu’s administration, describing the current state of the nation as one of suffering and hardship. Speaking at the National Reconciliation Committee meeting of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) on Thursday, Fintiri said that Nigerians are facing immense difficulties due to the government’s economic decisions.

The meeting, which took place in Bauchi State, was attended by several governors from the North East, as well as other important stakeholders. In his address, Fintiri stated, “Nigeria is bleeding, we are suffering, there is too much anger, and the economic policy is not working,” highlighting the growing frustration among the public regarding the country’s economic situation.

He called on the federal government to reconsider its economic policies, stressing that they are contributing to widespread hardship. “That is why we always call on the Federal Government to reconsider some of these economic policies that are only putting hardship on Nigerians,” Fintiri said. The governor made it clear that the government must place more value on the people’s well-being.

Fintiri further emphasized that Nigeria’s future should not be controlled by external financial institutions such as the World Bank or the International Monetary Fund (IMF). “Whatever will make us cry must not be part of your policy because the country belongs to us. It does not belong to the World Bank, IMF, or the international community,” he asserted, suggesting that national policies should prioritize the needs of Nigerians above external pressures.

While addressing the internal challenges facing the PDP, particularly in the North-East, Fintiri expressed confidence that the three North-East governors would work together to strengthen the party’s presence in the region. “We will work together to strengthen the party in the region,” he stated, stressing the importance of unity within the opposition.
