Nigerian rapper and social media personality, Darlington Okoye, popularly known as Speed Darlington, has announced plans for a concert in April and has expressed his desire to have controversial street-hop singer Portable as one of the performers. The rapper made this known in a recent video posted on his Instagram page.
Speed Darlington, who is known for his outspoken nature and long-standing feud with fellow artist Burna Boy, made the appeal directly to his followers. He requested that they help him connect with Portable by sharing the singer’s contact details with him. In the video, he praised Portable for his energetic stage presence and lively performances, which have gained him a strong fan base.
While expressing his interest in having Portable at his show, Speed Darlington also laid down a condition. He cautioned Portable against his usual stage antics, particularly his habit of stripping down during performances. He stated that he wanted a well-composed performance without any controversial stunts.
“Portable, you wan dey my stage April 13, are you interested?” Speed Darlington asked in the video. “Abeg no commot your pant for my stage. I no want see your private, Na classy men dey come, abeg. I don pass that level, sho gbo.”
The rapper emphasized that the audience at his concert would consist of sophisticated individuals and that he wanted to maintain a certain level of decorum at the event. His remarks suggest that he is keen on curating a specific atmosphere for his concert, avoiding any distractions that could take away from the music and performance.
Portable, known for his unpredictable and controversial behavior, has yet to publicly respond to Speed Darlington’s invitation. The street-hop singer has gained attention for his wild stage performances and social media outbursts, often making headlines for his antics.
