Music executive Paul Okoye, popularly known as Paulo, has strongly criticized human rights lawyer Deji Adeyanju for accusing Nigerian superstar Burna Boy of being involved in the recent arrest of rapper Speed Darlington. The accusation, which was made on social media, has sparked a heated exchange between the two public figures, with Paulo taking to Instagram to defend Burna Boy and challenge Adeyanju’s claims.

According to reports, Speed Darlington, whose real name is Akpi, was arrested in Owerri, the capital of Imo State, by officers from the Imo State Command of the Nigeria Police Force. This marked the artist’s second arrest, the first having occurred on October 4. He was subsequently released on bail on October 9 after spending five days in detention. The circumstances surrounding these arrests have stirred controversy, with Adeyanju suggesting that Burna Boy played a role in influencing the police action against Speed Darlington.

In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), Deji Adeyanju claimed that Burna Boy was behind Speed Darlington’s recent arrest, accusing the Grammy-winning artist of oppressing his colleague. This assertion quickly gained attention, but it also drew criticism, particularly from Paulo, who swiftly responded to Adeyanju’s public statement.

Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, Paulo expressed his disbelief at Adeyanju’s comments, labeling the human rights lawyer a “social media lawyer” for involving Burna Boy in the matter. “Lawyer Deji or whatever they call you, can you put respect on Burna Boy’s name? Why are you even mentioning Burna Boy’s name?” Paulo wrote. His response was direct and confrontational, with a clear defense of Burna Boy’s reputation.

Paulo did not stop there. He continued, “You are nothing more than a social media lawyer!. Get your facts right before you open your gutter mouth. Control your client.” The music executive’s comments have further intensified the debate, with his followers showing mixed reactions to the back-and-forth between the two figures.
