Phyna Speaks Out on Hunger Crisis in Nigeria, Calls for Collective Action

Reality TV star and actress Phyna has recently raised her voice against the escalating hunger crisis in Nigeria, highlighting the deepening hardship and widespread suffering caused by the country’s rising cost of living. In a heartfelt video message shared across her social media platforms, Phyna expressed her concerns not only about the lack of food but also about the absence of hope among Nigerians.

Phyna emphasized that the current state of hunger in Nigeria is not just about empty plates, but the widespread feeling of hopelessness that has taken root in the hearts of many. “The hunger, the hardship ravaging our beloved nation is an issue that strikes deep into the core of every Nigerian—young and old, rich and poor,” she stated.

She continued by pointing out that the impact of hunger is far more devastating than simply missing a meal. For many Nigerians, it means disrupted lives, with children unable to attend school because they are focused on finding food. “It’s about children who should be in school but are instead searching for food. It’s about parents who go to bed with empty stomachs unsure of where their next meal will come from,” Phyna lamented.

The actress drew attention to the widening gap between the rich and the poor, stressing that hunger in Nigeria is not merely an issue of scarcity, but one of dignity, survival, and humanity. “The lines of inequality grow longer, and the divide between the rich and the poor has never seemed wider,” she said. “For so many of us, hunger is not only just an issue of scarcity. But one of dignity, survival and humanity itself.”

Despite the magnitude of the crisis, Phyna pointed out the absence of a collective voice to challenge the status quo. “What do we see? Where is the collective voice that should speak for the voiceless? The silent majority who are battling not only to survive but to live with dignity,” she asked, urging Nigerians to unite in their struggle for change.

In a plea for national unity, she stressed that the country is too divided by borders, ideologies, and personal ambitions to address the hunger crisis effectively. “It seems far too often we are caught in our individual struggles, divided by borders, ideologies, and selfish pursuits, unable to come together for the greater good just for once,” she observed.

Phyna emphasized that the hunger crisis is not a distant problem but something that affects every Nigerian. “The truth is, hunger is not a distant problem. It’s right here with us. It’s in every home, community and every heartbeat of a Nigerian citizen,” she stated passionately. She stressed the urgency of collective action to fight hunger, urging citizens to stand together.

“We cannot fight this battle individually. We need to come together as one nation,” Phyna insisted. She called for the Nigerian people to put aside their differences and focus on what truly matters—the wellbeing of every Nigerian citizen, especially the vulnerable and underserved communities.

The reality star also held the leadership accountable for the growing hunger crisis. “We must demand accountability from our leaders. Not just in words but in action,” she said, stressing that the government must commit to ensuring food security for all Nigerians. She acknowledged, however, that the issue of food security requires a collective effort, not just from the government, but from every citizen of the nation.

In closing, Phyna emphasized the importance of citizens playing their part in improving the situation. “Moving the country towards food security is not solely the government’s responsibility but also that of every citizen,” she concluded.
