The ongoing feud between Afrobeats superstars Wizkid and Davido continues to capture the attention of fans and the media alike, with both artists at the center of heated debates in Nigerian pop culture. Recently, Wizkid reignited the tension by making harsh comments about Davido on Twitter, sparking a flurry of reactions from fans and industry onlookers. While the public continues to weigh in on the situation, rapper Ladipoe has shared his perspective, suggesting that the feud may not be entirely genuine.

In an interview with City 105.1FM, Ladipoe was asked about the feud, and he seemed uncertain about whether the rivalry was real or simply a promotional tactic. “Honest truth, honestly, I have no idea,” he responded. He pointed out that this isn’t the first time the two artists have been involved in public conflicts, which made him question the authenticity of the ongoing beef. “This is not the first time that there has been something like this between these two juggernaut artistes,” he added.

Ladipoe also mentioned that, from his perspective, the ongoing drama could be a savvy business move, especially considering the immense popularity of both Wizkid and Davido. “I just feel like una dey whine me,” he said, humorously addressing the fans’ expectations of a serious feud. “They are too big to not see the business opportunity in front of them,” Ladipoe stated, suggesting that a joint concert between the two artists could be a lucrative possibility.

While the rapper admitted that he isn’t close enough to either artist to know the full story behind the scenes, he acknowledged his respect for both Wizkid and Davido. “I’ve shaken Wizkid’s hand a couple of times. I’ve shaken Davido’s hand a couple of times. And in both ways, I respect them,” Ladipoe said. Despite his admiration for the artists, he remains skeptical about the nature of their public feud and whether it is all part of a larger strategy.

The concept of using beef for promotion is not new in the music industry, and Ladipoe recognized that it can be an effective strategy. “Beef for promoting stuff is an old tactic. It’s effective. I don’t love it personally, but it’s tried and tested, and it works,” he noted. While not his preferred approach, he acknowledged that it has been successful in the past.
