The Ogun State All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, has delivered a 12-classroom block at Iju Ebiye Secondary School in Iju Town and a modern Information and Communication Technology (ICT) centre at Lisabi Grammar School, Abeokuta, to strengthen educational infrastructure and improve students’ access to modern learning facilities.
The newly constructed one-storey classroom block comprises 12 furnished classrooms and fully equipped offices for teaching and non-teaching staff while the ICT centre features 60 desktop computer systems with tables and chairs, two automated printers with scanning, printing and photocopying capabilities, a 30KVA generator, a 15KVA solar inverter, air-conditioning units and other supporting utilities to facilitate technology-based learning.
According to Senator Adeola, the provision of modern classrooms alongside digital learning facilities was essential to improving the quality of education, building students’ technological capacity and preparing young people for future academic and career opportunities.
He noted that the projects demonstrate his commitment to supporting educational development through practical interventions that address the needs of students and teachers.
“Education remains a critical investment in the future of our people and the development of Ogun State. Our responsibility is to support the creation of conducive learning environments where students can acquire the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need to succeed. While the 12-classroom block at Iju Ebiye Secondary School will improve access to quality learning facilities, the ICT centre at Lisabi Grammar School will strengthen students’ exposure to digital education and technology,” he said.
The projects form part of Senator Adeola’s educational interventions across Ogun State, aimed at improving learning environments, expanding access to digital resources and strengthening students’ academic and professional development.
