Controversial Nigerian rapper Speed Darlington has claimed that the recent scandal involving Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy and socialite Sophia Egbueje was orchestrated to affirm the singer’s sexual orientation. The controversy, which has dominated Nigerian social media, centers on allegations of a sex-for-Lamborghini arrangement between Burna Boy and Sophia.
Last week, social media was flooded with reactions after a leaked audio recording surfaced. In the clip, Sophia accused Burna Boy of engaging in an affair with her and failing to fulfill his promise of buying her a Lamborghini. The allegations sparked heated debates among fans, with many questioning the authenticity of the claims.
Speed Darlington, known for his outspoken nature and history of criticizing Burna Boy, weighed in on the controversy. He suggested that the entire situation was a staged event designed to counter rumors surrounding Burna Boy’s sexuality. According to him, the singer deliberately orchestrated the scandal to present himself as heterosexual.
In a video posted on his Instagram account, Darlington did not hold back his words. He said, “P*ssy n*gga, you’re killing yourself running up and down trying to prove to the rest of us that you’re not gay.” He further alleged that Burna Boy and Sophia planned the controversy together.
“Na you and that girl plan that thing. I know say e go spoil your name but I go give you small money make you front like say you be olosho, make them believe say I like woman,” he continued, accusing Burna Boy of using the scandal to deceive the public.
Darlington has previously accused Burna Boy of leveraging influential connections to boost his career. He once claimed that the singer’s Grammy win was facilitated by a questionable relationship with American music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs. His latest remarks add to the ongoing speculations about Burna Boy’s personal life and industry politics.
Despite the explosive claims, neither Burna Boy nor Sophia Egbueje has publicly responded to Darlington’s allegations.
