Stan Alieke, the attorney representing Nigerian rapper Speed Darlington, has announced that his client is expected to be released soon following his arraignment and subsequent bail. In a statement released on social media, Alieke shared that Speed Darlington was granted bail by the court on January 15.
Alieke explained that the reason for the delay in Speed Darlington’s release was due to the court’s incomplete verification of the surety that was provided as part of the bail process. “Yes, Akpi was arraigned and granted bail today by the court & he was meant to be released today,” Alieke wrote on Instagram, addressing the concerns of fans and the public.
The attorney clarified that while the rapper had been granted bail, the court was unable to complete the verification process in time for his release. “The court just couldn’t meet up to verify the surety we provided that’s why he wasn’t released today,” Alieke further explained, assuring the public that the issue would be resolved promptly.
According to Alieke, Speed Darlington is expected to be released the following day, January 16. “Hopefully, by tomorrow he’ll be out after the perfection of the bail conditions,” he added, providing reassurance to fans eagerly awaiting the rapper’s return.
The news of Speed Darlington’s bail came after he was brought before the court, but his legal team has remained confident that the necessary procedures would be finalized quickly. The delay was attributed to the logistical issue of ensuring the verification of the surety, a required step in the process.
The update provided by Alieke was shared widely on social media, with fans of the rapper expressing their support and anticipation for his release. While Speed Darlington’s legal situation has drawn attention, his lawyer’s prompt communication has helped ease concerns regarding his current status.
