Renowned Nigerian music stars Wizkid and Reekado Banks have officially reconciled after a lengthy fallout that lasted over four years. The duo, who had been at odds since 2020, were recently spotted together in Lagos, marking the end of their public feud and signaling a fresh start in their friendship.
The rift between the two artists began in October 2020 when Wizkid publicly called out Reekado Banks on social media. The controversy erupted after Reekado Banks announced the release of their collaboration single, *Omo Ologo*, during the height of the #EndSARS protests. Wizkid, who was deeply involved in the movement against police brutality, found the timing insensitive and lashed out, referring to Reekado as a “clout animal” and urging him to take down the announcement.
Following the fallout, both artists maintained their distance, and fans speculated that their professional and personal relationship had been permanently severed. Neither of them publicly addressed the issue further, and their paths rarely crossed in the music industry, fueling speculation about lingering tensions.
However, the long-standing rift came to an end this week when Wizkid visited Reekado Banks’ newly opened lounge in Lagos. The visit was seen as a significant gesture of reconciliation, indicating that both artists had moved past their differences. A video capturing the moment they dined together at a Lagos restaurant, accompanied by rapper Shallipopi, quickly went viral on social media.
