The budget, termed the “Budget of Sustainability,” is designed to prioritize resilience and shared prosperity for the residents of the state, with a focus on sustainable growth across various sectors.

In his address, Governor Sanwo-Olu emphasized that the budget is aligned with the state’s long-term goal of fostering economic development while addressing critical infrastructure needs. “This budget is centered on sustainable development and economic growth, with clear plans to improve infrastructure, diversify the economy, enhance social inclusion, and invest in human capital,” he stated.

The proposed budget allocates 41 percent, or N1.239 trillion, to recurrent expenditure, which will cover operational costs, salaries, and other day-to-day expenses. A significant 59 percent, or N1.766 trillion, is earmarked for capital expenditure, highlighting the government’s commitment to investing in large-scale infrastructure projects that are crucial for Lagos’ continued growth and development.
