Bobrisky Denies Allegations of Paying for Presidential Pardon Amid Legal Controversy

Crossdresser Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, has denied allegations that he paid the Falana family to secure a presidential pardon during his imprisonment for Naira abuse.

The allegations stemmed from an audio clip that went viral last month, released by controversial social media figure VeryDarkMan (VDM). In the clip, the individual accused of speaking with VDM purportedly claimed that Bobrisky had approached well-known lawyer Femi Falana (SAN) for assistance in obtaining a pardon in exchange for N10 million.

In the viral recording, the speaker alleged that Bobrisky had requested Falz, son of Femi Falana, to use his influence to facilitate the pardon. The conversation also included claims of an additional N3 million request to secure favorable treatment at Kirikiri Correctional Centre. These claims quickly garnered attention and raised questions regarding Bobrisky’s dealings during his time in custody.

In a follow-up clip, another audio allegedly featured the same voice, claiming that Bobrisky had paid N5 million upfront to Femi Falana, in an effort to gain a pardon from the Federal Government for charges brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The audio has since sparked outrage and backlash online, further complicating the crossdresser’s already controversial public image.

In response to the mounting allegations, Bobrisky took to his Instagram stories to deny the claims. “I am not the person in the audio, and my lawyer will be issuing a formal statement to address these false allegations,” Bobrisky wrote. He firmly maintained that the accusations were untrue, and he had no involvement in the conversations purported in the recordings. He urged his followers to disregard the rumors, emphasizing his intent to clear his name through legal means.

The Falana family, through their legal team, had demanded that Bobrisky issue a public apology within 12 hours, following the release of the audio. Their legal representatives noted that the accusations had tarnished their reputation and demanded a retraction to prevent further legal action. As the deadline approached, many online observers kept a close eye on whether Bobrisky would comply.
