Former President Muhammadu Buhari has disclosed that he sustains himself through rental income from one of his properties in Kaduna State, emphasizing his commitment to transparency during his presidency. Speaking in Hausa, Buhari reflected on the importance of honesty and accountability in public service. He underscored that throughout his time as president, he refrained from accumulating wealth through illicit means, a point he emphasized during his address to the APC caucus. “The income from one of the houses in Kaduna supports my day-to-day living,” Buhari said, explaining that he rents out the property to meet his personal needs.

He took pride in the fact that his assets are modest, consisting of just three properties: one in his hometown of Daura, Katsina State, and two in Kaduna State.
