The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has launched a campaign urging Nigerians to report abandoned constituency projects in their communities.
The commission pledged to prosecute individuals responsible for mismanaging or embezzling funds meant for these projects, saying, “We urge citizens to act as whistleblowers by reporting cases of uncompleted projects funded by public money.”
By engaging the public, the EFCC aims to identify projects that received funding but were left unfinished, holding accountable those responsible for the mismanagement of funds. This initiative is part of the EFCC’s broader effort to combat corruption and promote transparency in government spending.
The EFCC emphasized that citizen participation is crucial in the fight against corruption, stating, “With public participation, we can safeguard public resources and promote good governance.” The commission’s call to action encourages Nigerians to take an active role in exposing corruption and ensuring accountability in government projects.
