Controversial Nigerian singer Portable has launched a scathing attack on his colleague Zlatan Ibile, questioning both his music style and his level of fame among affluent individuals. During an interview on Echo Room, Portable claimed that Zlatan lacks influence in elite circles and dismissed the substance of his music.
“Zlatan is not known among wealthy people,” Portable said. “His music does not carry weight.” The singer suggested that Zlatan’s reputation was inflated and did not hold much significance outside certain fan bases.
Portable also alleged that a car dealer he knows informed him that Zlatan was attempting to use his name for clout. According to Portable, the dealer advised him not to engage with Zlatan, stating that responding would only elevate Zlatan’s relevance.
The disagreement between the two artists escalated when Portable accused Zlatan of posting a video of a previous altercation between them to gain attention. He suggested that Zlatan was using social media antics to remain relevant rather than relying on his music.
Their feud appears to have deeper roots, as Portable claimed it originated from Zlatan allegedly interfering in his relationship with Afrobeats superstar Davido. According to Portable, Zlatan advised Davido to be cautious in his dealings with him, leading to a fallout between Portable and Davido.
“Zlatan told Davido to be careful around me,” Portable stated. “That’s how everything started to change.” He suggested that Zlatan’s words influenced Davido’s perception of him, ultimately straining their connection.
The ongoing rift between Portable and Zlatan has sparked debates among fans, with many speculating on the true cause of their rivalry. While Zlatan has yet to respond to the latest claims, the public awaits to see if he will address the accusations or let the controversy fade.
