In a strong statement reflecting his administration’s commitment to security, Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu has vowed to ensure that individuals engaging in unlawful activities, whether within the country or abroad, face the full force of the law. Speaking through his representative, National Security Advisor Nuhu Ribadu, Tinubu made it clear that his government would not tolerate any form of wrongdoing and would pursue justice relentlessly.
The President’s comments were made during the graduation ceremony for the Executive Intelligence Management Course 17 at the National Institute for Security Studies (NISS) in Abuja on Saturday. Ribadu, who addressed the gathering on behalf of the President, reiterated Tinubu’s stance on maintaining law and order throughout the nation. “If you are a bad man, whether you are inside Nigeria or outside, you are in trouble. We will go after you. We will bring you to justice,” Ribadu quoted the President as saying.
The statement underlines Tinubu’s focus on tackling criminality, corruption, and any form of destabilizing activity, both in Nigeria and among its citizens abroad. This firm position reflects the broader security agenda of his administration, which has placed a high priority on safeguarding the nation’s peace and stability.
Ribadu also took the opportunity to reaffirm the government’s commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s security framework. His address highlighted the importance of a unified approach to countering security threats, underscoring that every bad actor, no matter their location, would be pursued without hesitation. “We will ensure that those who pose a threat to Nigeria’s peace are dealt with appropriately,” Ribadu emphasized.
In addition to Ribadu’s remarks, the Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Adeọla Ajayi, also spoke at the event. Ajayi praised the growing collaboration between Nigeria’s security agencies, noting that their unity was essential to overcoming the country’s security challenges. He remarked, “Together we can win. The CDS and NSA have driven synergy in a way I have never seen in my career. We need to work together.”
Ajayi further expressed confidence that the country could overcome its security issues if all agencies remained committed to cooperation. “No security challenge can defeat us if we work together,” he declared, offering a hopeful outlook for the nation’s future security. Ajayi also expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for his leadership, stating, “Very soon, all Nigerians will sleep with their two eyes closed. Thank the President for the direction you are taking the country.”
In his final comments, Ajayi reaffirmed his dedication to fulfilling the President’s vision, saying, “Thank you for appointing me. I will never let you down.” The event marked a significant moment in the ongoing efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s security apparatus and ensure that those who undermine the nation’s peace face justice.
