“The Devil Fears Prayers, Not Poor People” –COZA Pastor, Biodun Fatoyinbo Advocates

Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo, the Senior Pastor of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA), has emphasized the need for Christians to pursue both spiritual and financial success. Speaking to his congregation, Fatoyinbo pointed out that while the devil may fear prayer, he is not intimidated by those who lack financial stability.

In his sermon, Fatoyinbo illustrated the significance of financial prosperity by recounting a personal anecdote. He described a situation where a man attempting to preach the gospel was met with mockery by another man who questioned his appearance. “Has God helped you? Look at the way you look,” the man reportedly said, highlighting the connection between appearance and perception of success.

The pastor used this story to stress that financial success should not be overlooked in the pursuit of spiritual growth. “The devil wants people to stay behind and just be making noise even though Jesus became poor for our sake that through the grace of God we might become rich,” Fatoyinbo stated. He argued that poverty could undermine the credibility of the gospel message, as it may lead others to question the effectiveness of faith in achieving tangible results.

Fatoyinbo further elaborated on the idea that wealth is a powerful tool in advancing the gospel. He encouraged his congregation to work towards financial independence, noting that financial prosperity can significantly enhance their ability to spread God’s word. “Wealth is not just about personal enjoyment, but it is also a means to fulfill the mission of the church,” he said.

In his message, the pastor pointed out that many people focus exclusively on spiritual growth while neglecting the material aspects of their lives. He stressed that it is possible to thrive spiritually and materially simultaneously, citing biblical examples of prosperous figures who also had strong spiritual convictions.
