Randy Waldrum, the head coach of the Super Falcons, has resigned from his position after four years in charge. In a letter dated September 12, Waldrum cited health issues with his wife as the reason for his resignation.
Waldrum expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to lead the team, saying, “It’s been an honor to coach this incredible squad.” However, he noted that his wife’s health issues have made it difficult for him to continue in the role, saying, “After much thought and consideration, I am hereby resigning my position as Head Coach of the Super Falcons.”
During his tenure, Waldrum led the Super Falcons to several notable achievements, including a semi-final finish at the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco and a impressive performance at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
