President Bola Tinubu has launched a relief initiative to support vulnerable citizens, particularly the elderly, amidst Nigeria’s economic challenges.
The president directed the allocation of 1,200 bags of rice to each minister for distribution in their respective states.
This move aims to alleviate the impact of subsidy removal and rising inflation on the elderly, who are among the most affected. “This initiative reflects our commitment to cushioning the hardships faced by Nigerians, especially the elderly and vulnerable populations,” a presidential spokesperson stated.
Ministers are tasked with ensuring the relief materials reach the intended recipients in their states. The distribution of these essential supplies demonstrates the government’s efforts to provide relief and support to those in need.
