Ogun State Police Declare Portable Wanted Over Alleged Violent Attack on Government Officials

The Ogun State Police Command has announced that popular musician Habeeb Olalomi, better known as Portable, is now wanted in connection with a violent attack on officials from the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development. This development follows an incident on Monday night where Portable allegedly led a gang of nine individuals in an assault against government officials while they were conducting an official exercise in the Ota region of the state.

 

According to the police, Portable, who was reportedly armed with a firearm and other dangerous weapons, led the group of thugs in attacking the unarmed officials. The Ogun police revealed that the officials sustained various bodily injuries but were able to escape the attack and report the incident to the Ota Area Command. “Portable, armed with a firearm and other dangerous weapons, led a gang of nine thugs in a violent attack on the unarmed Ogun officials who sustained various bodily injuries but managed to escape and reported the incident to the Ota Area Command,” the Ogun State Police said in a statement.

The attack occurred at Odogwu Bar while the officials were conducting an enforcement exercise at Oke-Osa, Tigbo Ilu Ota. The officials reportedly encountered an elderly man during the exercise, who was later identified as Portable’s father. The violent incident has sparked concerns over the safety of public servants carrying out their duties in the area.

 

Despite the serious nature of the allegations, Portable has issued multiple public apologies via social media. The singer, who has a history of controversial actions, expressed remorse over the violence. However, the Ogun Police have continued their investigation, maintaining that the attack was a criminal act. In one of his videos, Portable claimed to have acted out of frustration but assured his followers that he would seek to resolve the situation with the authorities.

 

Following the incident, the Ogun State Police Command made an official declaration that Portable was wanted, citing a court order. The police emphasized the seriousness of the situation, urging the public to assist in locating and apprehending the singer. “The Ogun State Police Command has obtained a valid court order declaring him wanted. Members of the public are strongly advised to assist the Police by providing any valuable information that can lead to his immediate arrest,” the statement read.

Furthermore, the police warned that anyone found aiding or harboring Portable would face legal consequences. “Anyone found aiding or harbouring the suspect will face legal consequences,” the Ogun Police emphasized in their social media statement.
