Fatai Odunsi, the father of popular Nigerian singer Asake, has publicly appealed for financial assistance after suffering a partial stroke. In a now-viral video circulating on social media, Odunsi expressed his struggles and alleged that his son had abandoned him since his illness began in March 2022.
In the emotional video, Odunsi revealed that despite his worsening health condition, Asake has failed to offer him any support. “The last time I set my eyes on him was March 2022 when my sickness started,” he lamented. He further claimed that repeated attempts to contact his son had been unsuccessful, stating, “If I called Asake, he won’t pick.”
Asake, known for his hit songs and rapid rise to fame in the Nigerian music industry, has not publicly responded to the allegations. Fans and social media users have expressed mixed reactions, with some calling for the singer to address the situation, while others caution against drawing conclusions without hearing his side of the story.
Meanwhile, Odunsi has appealed to Nigerians for financial help to cover his medical expenses. “Please help me, it is your help that I need,” he pleaded in the video.
