Atiku Abubakar beats Obi, Tinubu to win Bayelsa

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar has won the presidential election in Bayelsa State.

He garnered 68,818 votes to defeat Peter Obi of Labour Party, who scored 49,975 votes while Asiwaju Bola Tinubu got 42,572 votes to come third and Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) polled 540 votes.

The result was announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) Collation Officer in the State.

Atiku won in five of the eight local governments in the state while Tinubu won two councils and Obi, one.
