BellaNaija and The She Tank Unveil Initiative to Empower Women Financially

INITIATIVE

BellaNaija and The She Tank have launched a joint initiative, “Her Money, Her Power,” aimed at promoting women’s financial independence and economic empowerment. The campaign seeks to address the economic challenges Nigerian women face and provide them with resources, mentorship, and networking opportunities.

According to Blessing Omakwu, Founder of The She Tank, “Economic power gives women a voice, choice, and agency over their financial future.” She emphasized that the campaign seeks to elevate the conversation around women’s economic advancement and highlight the critical distinction between empowerment and power.

The initiative features a multi-platform approach, including a television segment on Big Brother Nigeria, a digital series on BellaNaija’s platforms, and a comprehensive ad campaign on Multichoice. This approach aims to reach a wide audience and challenge cultural stereotypes and gender gaps in areas like wage equality, access to capital, and leadership roles.

Uche Pedro, Founder of BellaNaija, highlighted the importance of women’s economic power, saying, “Empowering women economically sparks joy, strengthens the nation’s economy, and contributes to long-term prosperity.” She emphasized that women’s economic power brings fulfillment to women, financial stability to families, and resilience to communities.

The She Tank and BellaNaija are committed to challenging gender norms and advocating for women’s power. The #HerMoneyHerPower campaign calls on Nigerians to join the conversation, ask questions, and contribute their voices to spark a ripple effect of empowerment.

Through this collective effort, the initiative aims to drive lasting change and promote gender equality. By empowering women economically, the campaign seeks to strengthen the nation’s economy and contribute to long-term prosperity.
