Nigerian crossdresser Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, has hit back at critics who had earlier condemned music executive Don Jazzy for supporting him after his release from prison. Bobrisky’s remarks came after Don Jazzy made a significant donation of N100 million to the VeryDarkMan Foundation, an NGO aimed at supporting underprivileged youths and other charitable causes. The donation was widely celebrated, but it also sparked a wave of hypocrisy, according to Bobrisky.
On social media, Bobrisky expressed his frustration with the double standards he believes have emerged surrounding Don Jazzy’s support. “When Don Jazzy helped me, you all dragged him. Now he donates to your favorite, and he’s a hero?!” he wrote in a direct rebuke to the public. He pointed out that while he had been criticized for publicly appreciating Don Jazzy’s support, the same people who had condemned the music mogul now lauded him for his recent philanthropic gesture.
Bobrisky went further in his comments, reflecting on how the negative reactions to Don Jazzy’s support for him made him question his own decision to show appreciation. “I disliked myself for mentioning his name, thinking I was showing appreciation. But you people proved me wrong,” he said.
The crossdresser then issued a defiant declaration, indicating that he would now keep his personal matters private. “From now on, I’ll keep my secrets to myself. I’m a pain in some people’s ass, and that’s okay,” he added, making it clear that he would no longer engage with those who criticized his interactions with the music mogul.
