Nigerian rapper Speed Darlington is back in the headlines, this time embroiled in a heated feud with Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy. The controversy ignited when Burna Boy reportedly filed a petition accusing Speed Darlington of cyberstalking, which resulted in the rapper’s detention by the Intelligence Response Team (IRT) in Abuja.
Following his arrest, Speed Darlington’s mother publicly intervened, placing blame on Burna Boy and his team for her son’s predicament. In a heartfelt appeal, she urged authorities for her son’s swift release, expressing her distress over the situation. “They should let my son go,” she pleaded, emphasizing the toll the incident has taken on their family.
After spending three days in custody, Speed Darlington was eventually granted bail and released. However, the rapper made it clear that he had no intention of backing down. In a fiery Instagram Live session, he declared his intent for retaliation, boldly stating, “Burna Boy is going to be begging for his account number when I’m finished with him.” This threat has only added fuel to the ongoing rivalry.
