Cynthia Morgan Criticizes Rudeboy’s “Vitamin D” for Low YouTube Views

Cynthia Morgan has taken to social media to criticize fellow Nigerian musician Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rudeboy, over the underwhelming performance of his recent song, “Vitamin D,” on YouTube. The track, which was released two months ago, has garnered only 500,000 views, a figure that has raised eyebrows, particularly given Rudeboy’s status as one-half of the globally successful duo, P-Square.

In a now-deleted post on her Instagram story, Cynthia expressed surprise at the song’s lackluster performance. “A Rudeboy song still on 500k after 2 months? God no dey sleep!” she wrote, before adding, “All my enemies must fold.” The comment appears to be a pointed jab at Rudeboy, whom she seems to regard as one of her professional rivals within the Nigerian music industry.

Cynthia’s remark seems to underscore the growing trend of competitive jabs and public rivalries between musicians in the Nigerian entertainment space. Despite Rudeboy’s legacy with P-Square, many have expected his solo career to mirror or even exceed his past successes. However, with “Vitamin D” struggling to gain significant traction, Cynthia’s criticism highlights a deeper issue of fan reception and the difficulty of maintaining relevance after a successful group career.

The “Vitamin D” track has not been able to break into the upper echelons of YouTube views compared to some of Rudeboy’s previous hits or those of his peers. Despite the popular song’s catchy beat and Rudeboy’s distinctive voice, it seems to have failed to capture the public’s attention in the same way his older hits did when P-Square was still active.

While Cynthia’s message has sparked some conversations online, it also raises questions about how Nigerian artists are adjusting to the solo spotlight after the disbandment of group acts like P-Square. Many fans had hoped for Rudeboy and his twin brother, Peter, to continue their individual successes after their split, but both have struggled to find the same level of success as they did as part of the group.
