Media personality Daddy Freeze has marked the 42nd birthday of Ramon Olorunwa Abbas, also known as Hushpuppi, despite the latter’s incarceration.
Hushpuppi, a notorious Nigerian Instagram celebrity, is currently serving a lengthy prison sentence in the United States for his involvement in large-scale online fraud. “Ramoni happy 42nd birthday. Bless you,” Daddy Freeze wrote in an Instagram post, sharing a photo of the convicted fraudster.
Hushpuppi was sentenced to over 11 years in federal prison for conspiring to launder tens of millions of dollars from cybercrimes, including online scams targeting businesses and individuals across the world.
He was also ordered to pay $1,732,841 in restitution to two of his fraud victims. His birthday, however, went unnoticed by many of his former celebrity admirers, with Delta State Governor’s aide, Ossai Ovie, pointing out the silence from those who once celebrated Hushpuppi. Ovie emphasized that his case highlights the importance of living a life free of crime, stating, “a life free of crime is the best life.”
