Chief Dr. Deji Adeleke, father of Nigerian music superstar Davido, has revealed the significant challenges he faced while developing his $2 billion power plant project. Speaking at a recent conference in Maryland, USA, the billionaire businessman discussed how a government official tried to obstruct the progress of the ambitious initiative. Adeleke, who is also the President of Adeleke University and CEO of Pacific Holdings Limited, explained that these efforts to halt the project were particularly difficult, but he credited divine intervention for the project’s eventual success.
During his speech, Adeleke, known for his significant investments in Nigeria’s business and education sectors, shared how the obstruction came from a specific government official, though he chose not to name the individual. The official’s actions were described as attempts to undermine the project, which could have delayed or halted the power plant’s construction entirely. Despite these obstacles, Adeleke expressed gratitude for the role of divine intervention in overcoming the hurdles.
“God’s intervention played a crucial role in helping us overcome these seemingly overwhelming challenges,” Adeleke stated. He emphasized that despite the efforts to derail the project, the power plant was completed successfully, marking a significant achievement for the Nigerian business community and for the country’s power infrastructure
