Multi-talented entertainer, Derek Ajibola has released a new single titled ‘Thickara’.
The song was officially released on all digital platforms on Wednesday, 4 October 2023.
Thickara, according to Derek, “is a song that was inspired by the beauty of an Instagram model I bumped into during the COVID-19 lockdown. It was a feeling of adrenaline as I flipped through her posts, then I instantly grabbed my gadgets and started to work on the beat, recorded a freestyle immediately as the inspiration was flowing, then worked on it time after time just to make sure I arrived at the right sound.”
He added: “Thickara resonates with me the kind of sound I always wanted to make as an artiste. It defines my sound someway —dark and adventurous besides making conscious music.
“There is always something to inspire you; all you have to do is to listen to your feelings and emotions. How I came up with this sound or song thickara was unexpected.”
Derek is a multi-talented and versatile singer, songwriter, music producer and actor, who discovered his talent at a tender age after being influenced by the likes of Will Smith, Michael Jackson, Fela Kuti, Femi Kuti and Bob Nesta. He has since left no stone unturned in following the path of greatness, as his positive impact on the entertainment sector continues to grow steadily.
