Popular gospel singer Ebuka Songs has finally addressed the reason behind his decision to leave Moses Bliss’ record label, Spotlite Nation, after just 11 months, despite having signed a three-year contract. His exit had sparked a lot of curiosity among fans and the music industry, but Ebuka had remained silent on the matter until now.
In December 2024, Moses Bliss explained in an interview that Ebuka chose to leave the label to pursue his music independently. This explanation left many wondering about the true reasons for his departure, especially given the relatively short duration of his time with the label.
For the first time, Ebuka has spoken openly about his exit, revealing that his decision was primarily driven by his desire to focus more on his ministry. Speaking in an interview with the Open Up Podcast, Ebuka explained, “I will always be grateful for Moses Bliss’ role in my life because, at that time, I had the anointing and gift but I didn’t know how to go about it professionally.”
Ebuka acknowledged the significant role Moses Bliss played in shaping his music career, but emphasized that he had reached a point where he needed to focus on a new phase of his life. “I am grateful for the journey that I have been through, but at this point now, the next level is to focus on my ministry. And we are in our good space,” he said.
While the departure raised eyebrows, Ebuka explained that he deliberately chose not to comment on the situation earlier. “The reason why I kept quiet about my exit or say anything since that time is because I don’t want it to generate more conversations,” he shared. His decision to remain silent was part of his effort to avoid unnecessary drama and maintain focus on his next steps.
Ebuka further clarified that his focus now lies entirely on his calling and the assignment he believes God has for him. “We all get to the point where we just want to be focused on the next phase of our lives, and because of the assignment of God upon my life,” he explained, underlining the importance of his spiritual journey.
