It was gathered that the entire funeral programme was strictly a private affair with only immediate family members and very few close friends and associates in attendance in compliance with the current guidelines occasioned by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Wale Tinubu described Ngozi Janice Okonkwo as a wonderful soul who was ready for every goal oriented endeavour. “She was knowledge, efficiency, competence, diligence and true leadership. She was what we all hope for in the team member. She was empathy, loyalty, support and trust. She was someone you wanted by your side when winning was the goal. She was focus, audacity, stealth, presence and persistence. For years she toiled in ensuring our dreams became reality and did so with a full dose of infectious optimism every day, despite the odds. She was excellence. My prayers remain with her family who lost a wonderful wife, mother, daughter and sister.” He concluded
Before her death, she obtained LLB (Hons) from University of Nigeria, Nsukka in 1997 and BL from the Nigerian Law School, Lagos in 1999. She was a member of the Nigerian Bar Association, honorary fellow of the Association of Fellows and Legal scholars of the centre for International Legal Studies, Austria, and Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, United Kingdom and Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation, Nigeria.
