Frank Edwards Shares How His Mother Prevented Him from Signing a Life-Changing Deal

Renowned gospel artist Frank Edwards marked this year’s Mother’s Day with a heartfelt tribute to his mother, expressing deep gratitude for her guidance and wisdom in his life and career. The celebrated musician shared a pivotal moment in his career when his mother played a crucial role in saving him from making a potentially damaging decision.

Edwards recounted a significant offer he received years ago, where a group sought to pay him $320,000 for his music rights, but with the catch of acquiring full ownership of his catalogue. However, it was his mother who stepped in at a critical juncture, advising him against the deal.

“The very first time in my life years ago I was to close $320,000 deal from a group that wanted to almost own my entire catalogue. You said NO! And I quote you, ‘The 150,000 naira I gave you to start that studio is bigger than that money, just give it time. They are not of God,'” Edwards recalled, highlighting his mother’s strong conviction.

He further shared how his mother, who had already supported him by providing N150,000 to kickstart his studio, took drastic steps to protect his future. Edwards revealed that she even went as far as taking his international passport to prevent him from traveling abroad to finalize the deal behind her back.

“Infact you took my international passport away from me just to ensure I don’t travel to close that deal, and I was laughing because I didn’t need to travel to close it but then I listened to you,” Edwards wrote, reflecting on his initial disbelief. “After you said that, I was thinking how is 150,000 Naira bigger than $320,000?”

The singer expressed his immense gratitude toward his mother, acknowledging that her intervention not only saved his career but also allowed him to see the greater value in her words. He shared, “Now I understand there is so much to say! But like I said… this space is not enough!! Happy Mother’s Day mum!!! Thank you for everything; this space is not enough to write about you.”

He continued, “Thank you for an impenetrable wall of fire! Thank you for always telling me the mind of God about the things I’m doing, none of your words fell to the ground because you truly hear from God.”
