Gary Shaw, a former Aston Villa striker and European Cup winner, has passed away at the age of 63 due to injuries sustained in a fall. Shaw, who came through the youth ranks at Villa, scored 79 goals in 213 games for the club.
Shaw played a crucial role in Villa’s 1981 league title and 1982 European Cup victories. His impressive career earned him a special place in the hearts of Villa fans. “Gary was one of our own, a talented striker who delighted supporters with his goalscoring exploits,” Aston Villa Football Club said in a statement.
