Maryam Sanda has been weeping profusely since the Federal Capital Territory High Court pronounced her death sentence.
She has been standing trial for allegedly stabbing her husband, Bilyaminu Bello on November 19, 2017, accusing him of infidelity after seeing a text message on his phone.
The trial judge, Yusuf Halilu, said Sanda was guilty of the offence and deserved to die.
Bilyaminu was son of former Peoples Democratic Party National Chairman, Dr Haliru Bello.
Maryam’s mother, Hajia Maimuna Aliyu, who is also the Managing Director of Aso Savings, alongside their house help, Sadiya Aminu have also been charged for culpable homicide.
Maimuna was charged for aiding and abetting Sanda to conceal the evidence by cleaning the blood of the deceased from the scene of the crime.
