Nigerian skitmaker, Ogunleye Babatunde Olamide, popularly known as Oluwadolarz, has shared his inspiring story of resilience and perseverance.
In a recent interview on the ‘WithChude’ podcast, the 30-year-old comedian revealed that he faced immense challenges from a young age after losing his father at just two years old.
This loss forced him to take on adult responsibilities early in life. “I became a man at the age of 11. At that age, I was contemplating what the family would eat,” Oluwadolarz shared.
To support his family, he worked at the Dangote Cement factory in Ebute Metta after his music career stalled in 2008. “I was once a truck loader at Dangote Cement at Ebutee Metta. I was loading pasta,” he recalled.
Oluwadolarz also acknowledged the support of his stepfather, who passed away in 2015. “I lost my dad at a very early age… But I had a stepdad who supported us.”
Despite his early struggles, Oluwadolarz’s music career initially failed to take off. “I started music in 2008. It did not move at all,” he said.
However, his troubles didn’t end there. In 2020, Oluwadolarz faced rape allegations, which had severe consequences on his career and mental health.
“On the rape allegation, I lost a lot of jobs. I was depressed because that was the same period I had my child. I paid a lot of debts because they wanted me to repay their money,” he revealed.
