In a deeply emotional revelation, Nollywood actress Dayo Amusa shared the heart-wrenching details of her battle with infertility and the emotional turmoil she experienced while longing for a child. During a recent interview with Debbie Shokoya, Amusa openly discussed the challenges that led her to give God an ultimatum about her life and future.
Reflecting on the pain of her infertility struggles, Amusa recounted a particularly poignant moment when she broke down in front of her domestic staff. “I remember I was singing at the deepest and the top of my voice. I remember I was crying so deeply like I didn’t mind that my maid and domestic workers were around. I was telling God it’s either you take my life at this moment or you fulfill that promise which you have promised me,” she shared, describing the intensity of her feelings at the time.
The actress expressed her frustration and desperation, recounting the extensive medical treatments she had undergone in the hopes of becoming a mother. “I cried and told God I was tired. I knew how many medical checkups I had gone through. I know the amount of surgeries I have had,” she revealed. At her lowest point, Amusa made a desperate plea to God, saying, “If this thing will still happen, I told God to let it happen. If it’s not going to happen, He should kill me.”
Amusa’s journey to motherhood has not been an easy one, as she faced both emotional and physical obstacles. She had long struggled with the inability to conceive, which led her to undergo numerous medical tests and surgeries. In fact, her battle with infertility had a profound impact on her personal life, with her ex-husband leaving her during this challenging period. He later moved on and had a child with another woman, adding to the emotional strain Amusa was already enduring.
Despite the immense hardships, the actress’ story took a turn for the better when she welcomed a baby boy in November of last year. The child, named Oluwafirewamiri, marked a significant milestone in Amusa’s life and brought her immense joy after years of heartbreak. “It’s a miracle,” she expressed, reflecting on the long-awaited fulfillment of her motherhood dreams.
