Former Nigerian Education Minister, Oby Ezekwesili, has spoken out against the ongoing election violence and thuggery in the Lagos Governorship election.
Ezekwesili took to social media to express her concern and disgust at the actions of those who seek power through violence.
In a post on her Twitter account, Ezekwesili expressed her outrage at the coordinated criminal gangs that have been responsible for the violence and mayhem that has plagued the Lagos Governorship election.
She accused these gangs of killing and maiming innocent citizens who had done nothing wrong, simply in their quest for power.
Ezekwesili’s post reads in part, “In your desperation for power, you designed a coordinated web of criminal gangs to kill and maim your citizens who did no wrong whatsoever, and tomorrow you’ll go into a Church to call the name of God? I can assure you that chewing concrete as salad would be a child’s play.”
The former minister’s comments come in the wake of numerous reports of election-related violence in Lagos State.
