Nigerian actress, Jemima Osunde has shared her harrowing experience battling a life-threatening health condition that stemmed from consuming contaminated food on a film set three years ago. The actress opened up about her ordeal on X, formerly known as Twitter, revealing the impact it has had on her life and career. 

 

Osunde disclosed that she contracted *Helicobacter pylori* (H. pylori), a stomach-infecting bacteria, from the food provided on set during a film shoot in Ibadan. The infection developed into gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), a chronic condition that has left her fighting for her health ever since.

 

“I’ve never regretted anything the way I regret taking that job and going with them to Ibadan to shoot under their care,” Osunde wrote. Her words underscored the profound regret and emotional toll the experience has taken on her.

 

Describing the severity of her condition, the actress revealed that her gastrointestinal tract (GIT) has become a constant source of pain and distress. “The past month has really been something. sigh. My own stomach is my greatest op. Actually, my entire GIT,” she shared, emphasizing the ongoing nature of her struggle.
