Grammy-winning singer and songwriter John Legend captivated thousands of fans at the Global Citizen’s Move Afrika tour in Lagos on Tuesday, February 25. The sold-out event, hosted by popular media personality Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, featured an electrifying lineup, including performances from Nigerian singer Simi and DJ Consequence.
While the evening boasted a stellar roster of artists, the unexpected appearance of John Legend and his wife, model Chrissy Teigen, stole the spotlight. The crowd erupted in excitement as Legend took the stage, delivering a breathtaking headline performance that left attendees in awe.
The R&B star performed a selection of his greatest hits, including *Ordinary People*, *PDA*, *Green Light*, *All of Me*, and *Refuge*. Fans were treated to a special moment when Nigerian singer Simi joined Legend on stage for a soulful duet, further heightening the night’s energy.

Global Citizen’s Move Afrika initiative aims to create a sustainable touring network across Africa, promoting global music collaborations and cultural exchange. According to Hugh Evans, Co-Founder & CEO of Global Citizen, the event is a crucial step toward building a pan-continental music touring circuit that will benefit both international and local artists for years to come.
