The Kano Anti-Corruption Commission has arrested 12 members of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association (IPMAN) for selling fuel at N250 which is way above the N165 approved by government.

The marketers, who were detained at the Commission’s office, were caught, according to the anti-graft body’s boss, Barrister Muhmud Balarabe, red handed selling the commodity at N200 and above.

Similarly, the anti-graft agency has shutdown12 filling stations, which were used in the illegal acts, while the owners face serious penalties.

Barrister Balarabe, who expressed his sadness on the ungodly act of the IPMAN members at a time when people are struggling to survive, said he will not lament the unpatriotic tendencies of petroleum marketers.

“In fact when I heard about the unilateral increased in price of the pump price, I tried to reach out to the state Chairman of IPMAN, Bashir Danmallam, but all my calls were rejected by him including a text messages.”
