May Edochie Takes Legal Action Against Baba De Baba Following Allegations

Nollywood actress May Edochie is speaking out following claims made against her by Chidi Uzoma, popularly known as Baba De Baba. In a social media video, Baba De Baba accused the actress of attempting to harm him and his family. He also went further to allege that Edochie had kidnapped his son. The accusations have sparked controversy and prompted legal action.

In response to the allegations, Edochie’s lawyer confirmed that Baba De Baba had been taken into custody. The lawyer stated that the comedian had been arrested for cyberstalking, cyberbullying, and other criminal acts. The arrest was made after a two-week period of observation by the police.

Edochie’s attorney revealed the circumstances that led to Baba De Baba’s arrest. “We tricked him into getting caught,” the lawyer explained. “We pretended to have a deal for him and negotiated with him to secure his arrest.” The lawyer went on to disclose that Baba De Baba had requested a sum of N10,000,000 and additional fees for every appearance, which was agreed upon during their negotiations.

When the comedian showed up to sign the contract, he was arrested on the spot. This strategic move was part of a larger legal plan to hold Baba De Baba accountable for his actions. “We had to take this step to protect our client and ensure that justice is served,” the lawyer said in a statement.

The legal team further revealed that a criminal petition against Baba De Baba was filed last month. The petition includes various charges stemming from his actions towards May Edochie. In addition to the criminal petition, the case involves two separate civil summonses, one issued by the Lagos High Court and the other by the Abuja High Court.

With the case still unfolding, Edochie’s lawyer emphasized the seriousness of the allegations and the need for accountability. “Our priority is to ensure that the truth prevails and that our client’s rights are fully protected,” the lawyer concluded.
