The ongoing social media feud between Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, and Nigerian Afrofusion star Burna Boy, has taken a new twist. Cubana Chief Priest, during a Sunday appearance on Channels Television’s Rubbin Minds, attributed the tension to jealousy, claiming that Burna Boy’s animosity stems from his relationship with fellow Nigerian singer Davido Adeleke, better known as Davido.
Over the past weeks, the two public figures have engaged in a series of heated exchanges on social media, sparking widespread speculation about the root of their conflict. However, Chief Priest’s recent remarks provided more clarity about the cause of the feud.
“My whole issue with Burna Boy started because he was jealous of my relationship with Davido,” Cubana Chief Priest revealed on Rubbin Minds. “He wanted CP by his side, but I chose to work with Davido.” The socialite added that the relationship between him and Davido had always been a personal and professional one, with no external influences from Burna Boy.
Cubana Chief Priest went on to clarify that neither he nor Davido had ever engaged in discussions about Burna Boy. “Me and Davido have never discussed anything about Burna Boy,” Chief Priest said. “Davido isn’t the kind of person who would use his time to discuss his colleagues. It’s always them imagining things and trying to drag us into it.”
The feud escalated after Burna Boy made headlines by arresting another Nigerian singer, Speed Darlington. This dramatic incident brought more attention to the already tense situation between the two parties. The arrest followed Darlington’s accusations against Burna Boy, which involved claims of an illicit relationship with American music executive Diddy in an attempt to win a Grammy Award.
Speed Darlington’s controversial statements were made public on social media, where he suggested that Burna Boy’s success, particularly in relation to the Grammy, was the result of underhanded dealings with Diddy. According to Darlington, Burna Boy had allegedly used his relationship with the American mogul to advance his own career. Burna Boy’s response to these claims led to the arrest of the singer, which only intensified the drama.
Cubana Chief Priest, known for his outspoken nature, has been vocal about the situation from the start, and his latest comments have provided insight into the personal motivations behind the feud. The socialite has made it clear that he has no intention of siding with Burna Boy, especially after what he perceives as an act of jealousy and betrayal.
“Burna Boy’s problem with me isn’t about anything I’ve done. It’s about who I choose to associate with, and he doesn’t like that,” Chief Priest explained during the television interview. “It’s all about his jealousy over the relationship I have with Davido.”
