Natasha Takes Fight Against Suspension and Harassment Allegations to UN

Nigerian Senator Natasha has taken her fight for justice to the international stage, speaking at the Women in Parliament session at the United Nations (UN) in New York. During her address, she alleged that she was a victim of political victimization by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, following her controversial suspension from the Nigerian Senate.

In an emotional speech, Senator Natasha called on global democratic institutions to intervene in what she described as an unjust action against her. She argued that her suspension was not only politically motivated but also an attempt to silence her. “My suspension is unlawful and a direct act of injustice against me,” she declared, urging the international community to hold Nigerian authorities accountable.

The senator also raised serious concerns about her personal safety in the wake of her decision to speak out on the issue at the global event. She expressed fears that “the powers that be” in Nigeria might retaliate against her for bringing the matter to the UN, even suggesting the possibility of being detained in New York to prevent her return home.

Her speech has reignited discussions about political intimidation and gender-based discrimination in Nigeria’s legislative system. Supporters argue that her case highlights a troubling pattern of suppressing dissenting voices, particularly those of women in politics.

Senator Natasha’s suspension was officially announced by the Nigerian Senate in March, following recommendations from its Committee on Ethics, Rules, and Code of Conduct. The committee’s findings led to what many have described as a severe punitive action against the lawmaker.
