The Executive Chairman of Oshodi-Isolo local government, Otunba Kehinde Almaroof Oloyede, has felicitated with Nigerians and the federal government on the occasion of the 61st independent day celebrations of the country.
Oloyede in his Independent day celebration’s message to Nigerians urges nostalgia feelings for a united nation, saying no nation prospers in disunity.
He said; “I, on behalf of the people of Oshodi-Isolo, delightedly felicitate with Nigerians, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Babajide Sanwoolu on the occasion of the country’s 61st independent day anniversary.
As we celebrate our nation’s independence, let’s remember our leaders who gave their lives in the battle for the freedom we are enjoying today. Let’s do everything we can positively do for our dear nation to make it a place of wealth, peace and happiness for all.
The council boss lamented the high level of insecurity in the nation as he called for concerted effort in winning the war against banditry, kidnapping and the raging Boko Haram insurgents.
He said; “Those beating the drum of disintegration of the country should have a rethink and start drumming a United Nigeria drum for the betterment of all.We implore the federal government to take decisive action against kidnapping, banditry and the Boko Haram terrorists to fight them to stand still.
“We must not allow these criminal elements to take the centre stage of our country, they have wrecked a lot of havoc on our economy and standard of living.”
“It is true that our nation is going through myriads of challenges vis-a-vis insecurity and economic, we must remain committed and work along with the government at all levels to return peace and harmony to the nation”.
” Let me reiterate that our administration shall continuously pursue programmes and policies that will impact positively on the lives of our people”.
