Former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo has expressed optimism about the future of the country, describing Nigeria as a nation with a great destiny. Obasanjo acknowledged the difficult times Nigerians are experiencing but urged the populace to remain hopeful. “Where we are is not where God wants us to be. And I believe that sooner than later, we will get to where God wants us to be,” he stated, reinforcing his enduring faith in Nigeria’s potential. The former president expressed confidence that the nation’s economic difficulties are only temporary and will soon be overcome.
He further emphasized his unwavering optimism, saying, “I am an incurable optimist about Nigeria, and we have a great country.” Obasanjo’s comments came in the midst of Nigeria’s ongoing economic challenges, including rising inflation, unemployment, and social inequality. Obasanjo believes that Nigeria is destined to be a prosperous land, where abundance and prosperity will flourish. “God wants Nigeria to be a land flowing with milk and honey, not a desert, not a basket case, not a failed country,” he remarked.
