Nollywood Actress Toyin Abraham Clears Air on Unpaid Debt Allegations

Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham has responded to allegations of unpaid debt made by a seamstress on Instagram. The fashion designer claimed that Abraham and fellow actress Annie Idibia owed her millions for over a year.

According to the seamstress, Tiannah, Abraham and Idibia had failed to pay for designer dresses provided for a movie production. However, Abraham has described the situation as a “complete misunderstanding” and provided screenshots of a chat to clarify the context.

Abraham explained that her team borrowed designer dresses from Tiannah for her movie Malaika’s runway scene. Additionally, a team member introduced another designer who provided more dresses. Abraham purchased a hairpiece from this designer and paid in full.

Regarding the dresses, Abraham stated they were borrowed, used for the shoot, and then returned to the team member, Gabriel. After seeing the accusations, Abraham contacted Gabriel, who confirmed informing the designer that the dresses had been returned and borrowed by someone else, removing Abraham from the equation.

“I want to address the recent allegations regarding an unpaid debt to a fashion designer. The situation has been completely misunderstood, and I’d like to clarify what happened,” Abraham wrote on Instagram.

Abraham shared screenshots of the conversation between Gabriel and the designer as proof, stating, “Upon seeing the allegations online, I immediately called Gabriel for clarification. Gabriel confirmed that he informed the designer that the dresses had already been returned to him, and that they were subsequently borrowed by someone else. It is, therefore, no longer my responsibility.”

Abraham appreciated everyone’s understanding and support, thanking them for their attention to the matter. “I hope this clears the confusion,” she concluded.
