Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has revealed that his administration has begun working on the modalities for implementing the new minimum wage for government workers in the state.
Speaking at the 14th convocation of Osun State University, Adeleke acknowledged the challenges imposed by the removal of fuel subsidies on workers and assured them that his administration would mitigate the impact.
Adeleke highlighted his administration’s support for various initiatives to enhance the growth of the institution. In the past year, the state government has supported the university in completing an office complex at the Isale-Osun campus for health-related program accreditations. Additionally, they have prioritized road construction leading to the student area at Sasha Market and other campuses.
The governor proudly mentioned the commissioning of the university’s ultra-modern Anatomy Complex and the payment of a year’s arrears to staff members. He also noted that palliative allowances have been paid to all workers.
Adeleke urged staff and students to remain steadfast in their responsibilities, serving the country with dedication. He emphasized the importance of a peaceful and harmonious environment for the institution’s progress.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Clement Adebooye commended stakeholders for their commitment to the institution’s steady growth. He congratulated graduating students, declaring they are prepared to serve the country and global economy as public servants, technocrats, and entrepreneurs.
