Political Transition in Rivers State as Governor Fubara Departs Government House

In a significant development in Rivers State, the suspended Governor Sir Similanayi Fubara has officially vacated the Government House in Port Harcourt. This marks the beginning of a political transition in the state, as Admiral Ekwe Ibas (rtd), the newly appointed Sole Administrator, prepares to take charge of the state’s administration. Sources confirmed to Daily Trust that Governor Fubara moved out of the government residence on Wednesday morning, signaling the start of a new chapter in the state’s leadership.

According to eyewitnesses who visited Government House on Wednesday, the premises appeared calm. At least three armored personnel carriers were stationed at the main entrance, a clear indication of heightened security as the political shift took place. The atmosphere was one of quiet anticipation, with local authorities ensuring a smooth transition. “The governor left Government House this morning and the new administrator is yet to resume. We are expecting him any moment from now,” a security source shared with *Daily Trust*.
