President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Alfred Abah as the Senior Special Assistant on Civil Service Matters. Abah, a retired director of the Federal Civil Service, brings with him over three decades of experience in various key public sector roles. The announcement was made in a statement from the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, signed by Director of Press, Eno Olotu.
The statement highlighted that Abah’s appointment underscores the administration’s commitment to improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the Nigerian Civil Service. “This strategic decision reflects the administration’s commitment to advancing ongoing reform efforts aimed at enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the Civil Service,” the statement read. Abah’s extensive experience and reputation for integrity and professionalism are seen as vital assets for driving these reforms.
The statement also praised the transformative progress witnessed in the Civil Service under President Tinubu’s leadership. “These reforms have boosted the confidence of the Nigerian people in the government’s dedication to good governance and public service excellence,” it added.
In a separate note, Head of Civil Service of the Federation (HCSF), Didi Walson-Jack, expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for the appointment. Walson-Jack described the role as a historic milestone, marking the first time such a position has been created within the Nigerian Civil Service.
